Freddie.
Refills.

An empty pill bottle. Fifteen seconds to make the next step clear. Viva Media developed and produced Refills for Freddie’s 2025 “Your Safe Space” campaign, turning a refill worry into a direct message about its online service.

Make online refills feel easier.

Freddie is PurposeMed’s online PrEP service. Its “Your Safe Space” campaign set out to make sexual healthcare feel more welcoming to LGBTQ2S+ audiences. Refills focused on one recognisable moment: looking into an empty pill bottle and wondering what comes next.

The task was to encourage people to consider Freddie without packing a full healthcare explanation into a short ad. Building on the brand’s campaign direction, Viva shaped the script, camera approach and production around a simple progression: recognise the worry, introduce online refills, and give the viewer a clear next step.

Start inside the pill bottle.

The opening puts the camera inside the bottle, looking up at the person holding it. That unusual point of view makes the problem visible before it needs explaining. We developed the script and storyboard with Freddie’s creative lead, keeping the refill message at the centre of the spot.

Make the brand part of the set.

Green furniture, props and surroundings carry Freddie’s visual identity into the scene. The home setting supports the campaign’s welcoming tone, with the performer providing the human contrast to the colour-led environment.

Give the message more of the 15 seconds.

We worked through the pace of the voiceover, the speed of the camera move and the length of the closing card. Each adjustment balanced time to understand the situation with time to register Freddie’s offer and the call to action.

Plan the shoot for the whole campaign.

Refills was one part of a wider stills and motion production in Toronto. We planned the shoot around shared sets and coordinated schedules, giving the photography and video teams time with the environments and performers they needed.

We created square and vertical edits as well as the widescreen film shown here. Freddie’s team reviewed framing, text size and disclaimer placement with us for each format, including space for Instagram’s on-screen controls.
